Weather Sampler
Public Sculpture: St. Clair Street Improvement, Toronto Transit Commission
ΒΌ inch Stainless Steel, 460 feet length x 41 inches high
Location: St Clair and Spadina, Toronto, 2009β10
An abstract representation of weather patterns experienced in our locale, Weather Sampler is created from simplified geometric shapes that are repeated and reorganized. Sunspots, heat rising from the pavement, overcast days, clouds moving overhead, sleet and rain are presented as poetic diagrams that evoke memories of calm days spent at the beach or turbulent days of wind, rain and snow. The sculpture is installed on top of a bus stop at St. Clair and Spadina.
